Chalkboard Wall / Art

Today let’s talk about chalkboard paint!  It now comes in an array of colors… But my personal preference is black!  It stands out the most and your chalk looks great in any color contrast.  Plan your shape or design.  If needed, tape off your lines with blue painters tape found at Walmart, Target, and any hardware store.  You can find chalkboard paint at the same stores mentioned earlier besides paint stores and craft stores too.  Depending on the size once you have taped it, simply roll it on like regular wall paint.  Follow the instructions on the can if you need to follow up with a second coat.  You can make it as simple as a large square or rectangle in a specific area of your room.  It can be a whole wall.  You can also tape off  the upper or lower portion of a wall and your child will have the whole section of your wall to create on.  I have chose a few pictures of  a little more of the artsy type chalkboards.  One is where I simply added a painted border around it with a train.   Another I did in a smaller area in a kitchen where family could simply leave notes to each other or make a grocery list or menu for the day!  Your own limitation is your imagination.  If you do not have the artistic skills, you can use wallpaper border, trim it out with a painted wood trim or find your local friendly artist to paint you something special!  Enjoy!
