FAMILY TREE IDEA

Everyone loves a family tree!  What better way to show off your family photos than on one main feature wall, where everyone can see?  It is simple enough to accomplish.  As shown in the picture below… Take an idea from a page or picture such as this and draw out the trunk of the tree as best you can to scale with chalk.  Fill in the tree with any shade from a carmel to a chocolate brown acrylic paint.  You can find acrylics at any major store such as Hobby Lobby, Michaels, some Walmarts, etc.  They usually come in two ounce bottles and you would be surprised at how much you can paint with that amount.  Choose a few shades of green, going with the softer colors such as olive, lime, even gold and maybe a darker shade of green.  You can use a nice one inch craft brush (my preference is by Plaid) and softly stroke the several colors lightly around the tree filling in here or there….. along the lines of the example shown.  If you are not comfortable painting the leaves, you can also use a stencil or the soft foam shaped leaves available in some stores to stamp onto your wall.  Once it has dried, strategically hang framed photos of your loved ones in the areas you feel best represents a true feel for “your” family.  Make it fun and I recommend 3X5’s,  5X7’s or 8X10’s as the largest.  You can use more pictures with the smaller frame selections.  Also it will be more harmonious to use the same basic styles and colors of frames, even though they don’t have to all match                                           family tree idea
